Rowan Ward

Rowan Ward is a 21 bedded unit specialising in the frailty, rehabilitation of adult patients and End of Life Care. Our aim is to provide individualised care tailored to the patients needs whilst promoting independence. We support patients and families with complex  decisions around discharge plans and destinations.

Visiting Times are: 11:00 to 20:00

We recognise the important role that visitors can play in the patient’s wellbeing and we want to be as flexible as possible to ensure you can spend quality time together. We request that only two visitors attend at any time unless pre-agreed in advance. Please let the ward know in advance if you are bringing anyone under 16.

Meal Times are:

Lunch 12:15 to 13:00, Supper 17:00 to 18:00

The ward operates a protected mealtime service, a member of staff will be on hand to ensure that the atmosphere is calming and provides support where needed. Please avoid entering the ward or visiting during these times.

We promote Johns Campaign which includes welcoming family and carers during mealtimes and outside of normal visiting depending on the needs of the individual patient. If you feel that a patient would benefit from this please discuss with the ward team.

Relatives/carers may escort patients to other parts of the hospital such as the garden and there is a telephone on the ward for patients and visitors (02382 310607) until 20:00 each evening.

You can contact the ward by calling: 02382 310605.
